A major winter storm struck Barrow, Alaska on Monday. You know it must have been bad because all of the schools were closed because of cold wind and heavy snow. 53 mile-per-hour winds were clocked with -20°F wind chills! Barrow is often called "The Top of the World" and sees very little sunlight this time of year.
This image is a live webcam view of Barrow. You can see the snow-covered roads in the foreground with the icy Arctic Ocean in the background. Very cool...literally! -ERIC
