Arctic Resists Warming

It is no secret that rising temperatures is causing a change in the geographical features of Alaska. Areas that were once permafrost are now seeing vegetation growing with many new areas thawing each year.

Yet the researchers also found new patterns of cooling ocean currents and prevailing winds that suggested the Arctic, long considered a bellwether of global warming, may be reverting in some ways to more normal conditions not seen since the 1970s. As a Meteorologist, I am of the belief that the global warming is still a myth. I need concrete proof to believe something. Still, I believe that the millions of tons of pollution in the atmosphere has got to have an effect on our climate...somehow. How drastic it is or will be remains to be seen. By the time we figure it all out, will it be too little/too late? -ERIC
