You are looking at pictures across downtown Rockford this morning from high atop the RRStar building. Heavy snow will continue through the 10am hour before tappering off to flurries this afternoon. The final snowfall amounts will be in by later this evening, but preliminary reports range anywhere from 11" in near Sterling, 5" in Freeport and about 8" here at the station on the west side of Rockford.
8:53am: The heaviest snow will be coming to an end within the next hour or so. But blowing and drifting snow will still cause problems on the roads through the afternoon.
