Friday Night Snow (Round #1)

Take a look at this radar view from 6:30pm Friday (courtesy wunderground.com) and you can see the snow that's coming down across much of Missouri tonight. The models are NOT handling this first round of precip well at all. I posted the animated nexrad loop to the left as well. While I have a feeling a lot of this will dry up and/or pass to the south, there's a chance we could get some accumulation out of this. I wouldn't be surprised if we woke up to an inch of snow Saturday morning. -ERIC

When you say 3 to the north and 7 to the south, what is considered north and south?, is it possible we could get more than 7?

North and south of Rockford. The three is likely north of the stateline. I have a feeling that we'll receive around 5 inches here in the city. Around seven is my best-guess for areas around Dixon, Rochelle, and DeKalb. -ERIC
