It could always be worse
The storm system that split in front of us this past weekend dumped a bunch of snow on Colorado and produced a pretty severe ice storm in Nebraska. Portions of southern Nebraska were devastated with destruction from the weight of the ice. Many power lines fell and most highway systems were shut down. The picture at left is a bit comical... sunshine glimmering off of a very cold pond. The photographer took over 250 pictures of this ice storm, which you can view here.
