Freezing Rain Now Occurring

The snow that we saw earlier has changed over to freezing rain as temperatures warm into the lower 30s! This has caused some problems across the stateline. Half of Freeport is without power this evening. Ice could accumulate on power lines and continue to cause outages through the overnight. I will continue to update you throughout the overnight! If we do lose power again...tune to B103 where you will be able to get the latest weather information!

We lost power off and on here in Winnebago..Like 3 different times. It's really windy here in town and there are a few small branches laying in the road..The street lights keep on flickering. I sure hope we don't lose the power again.

Lights have been flickering quite a bit... how long of a break will we get?

Well if the low cuts us off early, we will still have to deal with the nasty backhalf of the storm.

and it looks like the weather channel finaly adjusted their forcast. only took 6 hrs. in the storm. hah

thanks for the RELIABLE info 13 weather :)

I always watch the weather channel to know what NOT to expect. Most of the time they show footage of things that already happened.

I wish that it would just change back to snow, not all of this freezing rain and sleet. The backhalfs of these storms can produce as much or more sometimes. I'm looking foward to it. :)
P.S. the weather forecast online for rockton, illinois says we will have 9 hours straight of blizzard conditions! i hope they are right.

Weather.com shows 100% chance of snow for each hour through tomorrow afternoon.

I'm thankful that I am not the only crazy one out there who is LOVING THIS! We had some heavy sleet occuring a bit ago. (Roscoe) The snow amounts just keep changing, at no one's fault, let's just cross our fingers for something spectacular! My apologies to the folks and emergency people who really do have to drive in this.

Looks like you guys are having fun down there!

It's been mainly a snow event here in Madison. Been watching our Janesville camera, though, and have seen flashes of lightning!

Hope you guys, newsroom staff, & the production crew are warm and safe tonight.

Just wanted to give a little update on the storm. We still are dealing with a mix of sleet/snow with the heaviest amounts now moving into southern Wisconsin. We are beginning to see a "dry slot" or drier air moving in through central Illinois. While the snow will continue over the next couple of hours, things may actually calm down before we get on the backside of the storm Sunday. Tomorrow's snow will probably add on a couple more inches of snow by the evening.
