Light snow coupled with strong winds are making for hazardous travel conditions. Visibilities across the Stateline are hovering around 1 or 2 miles this morning. The snowplows are doing a great job, but blowing and drifting snow is still a problem at this hour. Rural roadways will be hit the hardest today so please drive carefully and courteously.I got an email this morning at 7:50am from Erik Sterud who counted 13 vehicles in the ditch heading northbound from the stateline to 11 East exit in Janesville. Just further proof that you should take it easy on the gas pedal today. -ADAM

50 degrees is the average high on March 25th.
60 degrees is the average high on April 17th.

Word from a relatively reliable source that Hy 11 (Jvl-Delavan) is closed due to blowing/drifting snow and an accident blocking the road.
Even if it is not literally closed, it sounds like it might be a good idea to stay off it.

The Rock County Sheriff says they are pulling all plows off the county roads at 6:00 p.m. tonight.
Will resume plowing at 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
I just drove home down Hy 51 from Janesville to Beloit.
Some stretches of it are not bad, but out by the Rock County Airport there are already drifts covering the highway and the blowing snow makes nearly white-out conditions.
It is nasty.
