Wow, have the tides turned!
Our average temperature was 42.5°F in March...more than three degrees warmer than average! NOAA recently reported that (in the United States) March was the second warmest since recording began! However, since April 1, more than two-thirds of the country is in the midst of a major cold spell. Nearly 2/3 of the country is averaging below average temperatures for the first half of April...in some instances as much as 10°F colder!
In Rockford, we have had an average temperature 5.1°F below average for the month...which so far is cancelling out our very warm March. -ERIC
