Rain or Snow or Both?
The big question on most people's minds right now is will we actually see snow in April? With the storm system just 36 hours away, the answer is still up in the air. The two graphics I built to the left indicate where the two main models are plotting the rain/snow line Tuesday night and into Wednesday.
Scenario #1 (GFS model) wants to keep us in the warm sector and spits out most of our precipitation in the liquid form. Scenario #2 (NAM model) wants to keep the storm to our south, which would give us some "shovelable" snow. The precipitation type will probably change back and forth a couple times, but my gut tells me by the time this storm passes through we will have an inch or two of some of that heavy, back-breaking snow.
We will tweak the forecast, if need be, as this messy situation nears. You know where to turn for the most comprehensive coverage! -ADAM
