My Opinion on Tomorrow's Threat

The graphic to the left shows the risk for severe weather for Thursday from noon until midnight. Highlighted in the red is the area under which the Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has issued a slight risk of severe weather for.

The yellow line is the way I would tweak their forecast. We always watch the timing of thunderstorms. Thunderstorms that develop during the peak heating hours (3pm-7pm) are typically the strongest. The storms should be over eastern Iowa during the peak heating hours tomorrow. That is why I would lessen the severe threat and shift it to the west. Our storms should be nocturnal for the most part, making our threat for severe weather fairly low. -ADAM

The winds should calm down after the front passes through tonight. Wind speeds for Friday should be less than 10 miles per hour. Kind of a sigh of relief...
