We are talking about the potential for patchy frost tomorrow morning (May 18th) across the Stateline. How abnormal is that? It is a bit out of the ordinary, but not unheard of.Here is a look at the latest frosts over the past 5 years. The average over the past four years puts the last frost around May 1st. Although, take a look at 2002. We had a frost that occurred two-thirds of the way through the month of May. That ended up being a record low as well.
In Rockford, we haven't dropped below the freezing mark in over a month. If we can sneak by the chance tonight we should be safe for the rest of this spring. -ADAM
