Impressive Rainfall Totals

Rain is good! Especially when we look back at May's paltry totals. At the Chicago/Rockford Int'l Airport only 1.25" of rainfall came down during the entire month of May! Compare that with our typical monthly average of 4.03". Looking back at the past five days, we've received more than 1.43"...more than the entire month of May!

The image above shows the total precipitation received over Northwestern Illinois over the past five days. The wettest areas are still west of the Mississippi, but more is in the forecast for the next few days.

One more thing! Have you noticed how the cornfields have really sprung up? Wow! My grandparents always used to say "Knee-high by the fourth (of July)." It's almost there now! -ERIC
