Isolated Storms Developing

Isolated storms are beginning to develop just south of here thanks to plenty of heat, humidity, and an upper level low moving through southern Illinois. Storms will continue to build north through the rest of the afternoon and could produce heavy downpours. Storms should begin to decrease in coverage after sunset.

What a surprise! I don't have to water my lawn tonight!

It has been raining HARD for the last half hour, here at bypass 20/I39.

Yes, this is definitely welcomed rain! Other than some CG lightning strikes and torrential rain, severe weather is not expected. -ERIC

When i left for lunch break it was sunny, and then when i came back it was pouring and they told me to go home. That came outta nowhere... and it was some of the heaviest rain ive ever seen.

Do you think the temperatures are going to rebound to the upper 80s as it was a couple hours ago? The rain did cool the air nicely, although it is still humid.

Wow! You all are talkative tonight...I love it! Over here, it never rained either (north of Winnebago). I checked my rain gauge at the house on break and there were just a few drops in there.

We've only got another day of this humid stuff before the Canadian high moves in.

Jessica: I didn't get your pic. Please send to esorensen@wrex.com and I'd be glad to put it on the blog!

Have a good night. Stay cool! -ERIC
