Storms that produced nickel sized hail in Mt. Carroll and Lanark this afternoon have pushed into the I-88 corridor and weakened. Mt. Carroll also reported over two inches of rain in a one hour period!With a few reports of hail coming in, I thought I would post the official size chart for hail should you be unlucky enough to get some big chunks. Softball anyone? Ouch!
Another thing: Golf ball sized hail falls from the sky at over 100mph. -ERIC

I've never heard anyone say hen egg size hail or tea cup size hail.
