Severe Thunderstorm Watch

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect through 4am Wednesday. This includes the entire Rockford metro area. Storms may produce winds in excess of 60mph, large hail, and very heavy rainfall. When threatening storms begin to move into the area, we will provide continuous coverage on the blog. -ERIC

Any chance of these storms growing and getting to Rockford sooner or are we waiting for the track to get here?

Brilliant lightning out here in western Winnebago County now. Hail coming down south of Freeport. Storms should move into the metro by 11:30 or so. -ERIC
