With a plume of moisture stretching from the gulf into Wisconsin ahead of a cold front this afternoon, thunderstorms will be likely through southwest Wisconsin, southern Minnesota, and northern Iowa. As we go through the night tonight, scattered storms are expected across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Some of those storms will linger through Wednesday morning. We may see a break during the early afternoon, but as the front and moisture push east, redeveloping storms are expected during the late afternoon and into the evening. Right now it looks as though the front should be moving through during the evening hours. If that's the case, activities that may be going on before the fireworks may have to be postponed. As for the fireworks...I would imagine that there could be a shower or two around in some locations. But if it does rain tomorrow night, the fireworks (at least in Rockford) will be pushed back a day.
