Record flood is forecast for Belvidere

Area rivers continue to rise on Sunday as heavy rainfall pounded the area again Saturday night. The National Weather Service is forecasting epic flooding for both the Rock and Kishwaukee Rivers.

For the Rock River at Rockton: At 10:30am Sunday, the stage was 5.4 feet. Major flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 10.0 feet. Forecast...Rise above flood stage Sunday night and continue to rise to 14.0 feet by Monday evening. River impact: At 14.0 feet Prairie Hill Road, 3 miles north, is inundated.

For the Rock River at Latham Road: At 10:15am Sunday, the stage was 5.5 feet. Moderate flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 10.0 feet. Forecast...Rise above flood stage early Monday and continue to rise to 11.9 feet by early Tuesday.

For the Rock River at Rockford: At 10:15am Sunday, the stage was 3.1 feet. Major flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 9.0 feet. Forecast...Rise above flood stage early Monday and continue to rise to 11.8 feet by early Tuesday.

For the Kishwaukee River at Belvidere: At 11:00am Sunday, the stage was 4.4 feet. Major flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 9.0 feet. Forecast...Rise above flood stage today and continue to rise to 16.1 feet by Monday evening. If this should occur, it would be a record crest! The previous record was set on February 20, 1994 at 14.19 feet. Click on the graph for more information.

For the Kishwaukee River at Perryville Road: At 10:30am Sunday, the stage was 8.4 feet. Major flooding is forecast. Flood stage is 12.0 feet. Forecast...Rise above flood stage today and continue to rise to 22.4 feet by Monday evening. River impact: at 22.0 feet damage begins in Cherry Valley.

with the link you gave it looks like the rivers are lower than forecasted... so far
