In a Mere 20 Minutes

With sun this bright and strong, it takes less than 20 minutes for the sun to start damaging your skin. The UV Index will be quite high for the rest of this work week. Outside of a little cloud cover Thursday afternoon, expect to be sitting under blue skies.

I know we say it all the time, but sunscreen is definitely needed. During one of my vacation days this past Monday I went to Six Flags over in Gurnee, Illinois. We stood in some ridiculous lines under wall-to-wall sunshine. Luckily, I remembered to put on some sunblock, but others were not so lucky. The number of people I saw by the afternoon with severe sunburns were too many to count.

On the flip side, the rides were amazing but the lines were painful. I think I stood in line for "Superman: The Ride" for over an hour. I ran into two water rides that were titled "Tornado" and "Typhoon". As a weather geek, I obviously had to check those out. All in all, it was a good day. -ADAM

Jim, your eyes do not deceive you. Candy was the weather kid in the background, because yesterday was her birthday! We like to mess around on the morning show, and since she had just filled in for me I figured we should get her on-air. I'm a little twisted in the head and with how hot the weather was going to be yesterday, I put her on a snowmobile to get everyone to try to "think cool thoughts."
