New weather alert feature added

We have added a new alert feature to the blog. This will highlight any severe weather event that moves into Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. Right now it updates when new warnings are issued or cancelled. (I hope to get our website to create and upload the image every five minutes...I have to work more on that in the coming days).

Not only will we be blogging severe weather events as they happen, you'll be able to get some sense graphically as well.

We are putting the finishing touches on our new and improved blog. Our housewarming party is coming next week! Have a great night. -ERIC

No i don't think it did. I went to bed at like 10pm and when i was outside before that you could see lightening off to the northwest but i don't think we did get anything. I mightof heard a few lil thunder rumbles but who knows. Woke up this morning and things were dry...

Will that feature be used during the winter months if or when there are winter storm advisories or warnings or watches or is that just for severe weather. i think the blog updating is great. i know you couldnt finish it last week with all the storms and flooding. i look forward to seeing that else is in store.

I have a question here to ask, what do you get a weather guy for a house warming gift for his blog? Thanks you just got me something to discuss on my blog tonight!

No rain overnight.

Hopefully when our weather computer is crunching radars, alerts, and satellites the data won't be too lagged. We'll have to try it out the next time we get svr wx.

Yes, we'll flip it to winter wx should we need to anytime soon.

Garry, thanks for the mention on your blog! -ERIC
