Audio from Hurricane Katrina

For Midwesterners it is very hard to imagine what living through Hurricane Katrina was like. My colleague, Morgan Palmer (a Meteorologist for KLTV in East Texas) recently uploaded two clips of audio that he recorded off the airwaves from WWL-Radio in New Orleans, the night Katrina came ashore.

Some of the audio is staticky but there are some very emotional phone calls from residents wondering why the water was rising and when help would arrive. If you have a few minutes, please click here to listen to some of the people who were trying to live through one of the biggest weather catastrophes in our nation's history. -ERIC

I could swear I saw more of Katrina this year than I saw 911. Now that's a sad thing. Think if the Labor Day or New England Hurricanes drew more national attention than Pearl Harbor in 1945.
