EXCLUSIVE SEVERE WEATHER INFO

3:15pm - Chicago/O'Hare Int'l Airport reporting delays over one hour....delays increasing.

3:10pm - Storms winding down. One last shower/storm will move through Roscoe and South Beloit through 3:30pm.

3:09pm - Marengo [Mchenry Co, IL] law enforcement reports TSTM WND DMG at 02:20 PM CDT -- tree down in marengo


3:00pm -
Rockford area: power outages numerous on the east side. Traffic signals out at Perryville and Newburg. Harrison and 9th. Harrison and 11th. Tree down at Brooke Road and Saner Av. on Rockford's south side.

2:38pm - Thank you for your weather reports/comments. I have relayed them to the National Weather Service Chicago office. -ES

2:25pm Severe storm threat has diminished across Winnebago, Lee, Ogle, and Boone County. Storms will continue to push through DeKalb and McHenry County through 3:15pm. Storms will have a potential to produce damaging straight line winds. -ES

2:23pm Rockford [Winnebago Co, IL] trained spotter reports TSTM WND DMG at 02:05 PM CDT -- 1 1/2 foot diameter tree down in rockford on 23rd ave and 6th st


2:23pm Belvidere [Boone Co, IL] law enforcement reports TSTM WND DMG at 02:15 PM CDT -- 2 small trees down from sheriff


2:09pm expires Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Ogle, Winnebago [IL]

2:04pm Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Boone [IL] till 2:30 PM CDT

1:55pm Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Ogle and Winnebago until 2:15pm.

Lost power here on State street for 30 seconds. Storm and winds are fierce!

It just got extremely dark in Belvidere, the rain is coming down hard and fast and the winds are incredible!

here in loves park, nothing severe or major, just some brief moderate rain and lightning and thunder. but no major wind. our power went out for a second. looks like up here we got spared the brunt.

In Chicago - 3500 blk of W. 31st St.- and storms are moving through. Incredible wind gusts, but no rain. Around 1330hrs., ran into very heavy rain and high winds on I-88 at Sugar Grove, IL.

based on these reports, looks like the southeast side and east side got the worst. like in my previous post, we just had some brief heavy rain here, and lightning and thunder, but no major wind gusts, or hail or damage.

to add on my previous post (as I was at work and made a quick post)

I work on State between Alpine and Mulford and it was extremely windy and raining rediculously hard.

My coworker that used to live in Florida until this year mentioned that this storm today, for a few seconds, reminded him like a tropical storm that he experienced a few years ago. The skies were super dark here and the wind was blowing so hard through the small trees and bending them for a short time. And the rain was just coming down so hard. Obviously what we experienced today was very short and nothing like the longevity and consistancy like a tropical storm would be.

A lot of leaves came off the trees too!

Here just 5 miles northwest of Mt. Morris...we got a hair under 1 inch of rain. We sure needed it!
