Cold weather is only temporary

Don't look for the 70s in the next six days or so, but they aren't done for good. We'll be rather chilly straight through the weekend with highs in the 50s and 60s. However I don't see any reason to say that the 70s are gone. In fact, the official 6-10 Day Forecast from the National Weather Service has 3/4 of the country above average for October 16-20. Looking at the long-range models, I see some pretty warm weather coming back into the Midwest during the Oct. 19-21 timeframe...when some 70s seem likely. Now we all must take this with a grain of salt...we're looking long-range. Many things may and will change between now and then.

My warm hunch also comes knowing how warm September was. It was one of the warmest months we've ever seen! To go right into a solidly cold long-term pattern seems highly unlikely. Stay tuned!!! -ERIC

If only the sun would come out a lttle bit I could probably keep the furnace on mothballs for another week or 2.
