You know we have been under a lot of cloud cover recently when your morning meteorologist starts getting excited about a partly cloudy day. We have been stuck under gray skies for roughly one week, but it looks like a few rays of (hope) sunshine will poke through on Wednesday. One storm system will depart and fall apart east of Michigan tomorrow, while another rainmaker starts brewing over western Nebraska. We will be in between these two pieces of energy for the peak of the week and that will allow the cloud cover to thin out a little bit. By no means am I calling for nonstop sunshine, but we should at least be able to bask in a half 'n half day (half clouds, half sunshine).
That storm system over Nebraska bears watching over the next 24 to 48 hours, because it could end up being quite strong and bring us a few loud thunderstorms Wednesday night and into Thursday. -ADAM
