We will run into some wet weather this evening.
Here is a look into my brain as to when I am thinking the showers and storms will hit.
As of 10am a line of showers is stretched over western Iowa. This activity is moving NNE. Therefore, it is going to take awhile before the rain reaches us. Around 6pm I expect some rambunctious thunderstorms to be churning over eastern Iowa and along the Mississippi River. Some of these storms could produce rather gusty winds. This severe weather threat mainly exists only for Jo Daviess, Carroll, and Whiteside Counties. By the time the storms reach Winnebago County, we should have lost the energy gained from daytime heating. This means the storms should not be severe around 9pm when the storms reach the Rockford metro area. If you are a night owl, you should still be awake when the wet weather ends. I expect the majority of the storms to exit the region at approximately 1pm. -ADAM
