Will Fall Ever Arrive?
The graphic to the left shows the temperature trend for the 6 - 10 day outlook. This runs from October 9th through October 13th. As far as the Climate Prediction Center thoughts, they believe fall is going to hold off another week. The Prairie State is shown in a red color indicating above average temperatures during that time frame. This weather pattern is incredible! It is hard for me to bring myself to forecast high temperatures 20 degrees above average 3 or 4 days in advance. Hopefully this extended warmth doesn't mean we will jump straight from summer to winter... -ADAM

Ok, inquiring minds want to know.
The sun reaching the northern hemisphere is only about as strong now as it is about the first week in March, right? Like, the angle of the sun and the length of daylight hours.
So how come Old Sol can still heat us up to almost 90 degrees now but in the first week in March when we'd really appreciate some warmth its a big accomplishment to get all the way up to 50 degrees?
Awhile back they were talking about La Nina, what happened to that?
Is it still around, is that why we're so warm now or is that all done now?
