First, there is a continued flood advisory for the Rock River at Rockton impacting Winnebago County.
The National Weather Service out of Chicago says water levels along the Rock River at Rockton continue to be above advisory criteria. Levels will remain nearly constant today before finally falling below advisory criteria Sunday afternoon. With bitter cold temperatures overspreading the region this weekend...ice formation along the Rock River is likely. As a result, the chances of ice jam flooding will also increase. If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an alternate route.
Right now the Rock River at Rockton is at 7 feet and flood stage is at 10 feet.
Here is advisory Number Two issused from the National Weather Service out of Chicago...The Arctic airmass brings dangerously cold wind chills. The Arctic high pressure will continue to settle across the region tonight. This cold air combined with west winds of 10-15 miles per hour...will result in dangerously cold wind chill conditions through Sunday morning.
So...that means a wind chill advisory is effect until NOON TOMORROW. These conditions can result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia...if precautions are not taken.

...THE FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 AM CST SUNDAY FOR
SOUTH CENTRAL ROCK COUNTY...
AT 6 PM CST ROCK COUNTY OFFICIALS REPORT THAT THE RIVER LEVELS ON
THE ROCK RIVER IN BELOIT TOWNSHIP REMAIN HIGH BUT HAVE STABILIZED.
THE HIGH RIVER LEVELS ARE DUE TO AN ICE JAM...LOCATED DOWNSTREAM OF
AFTON AND UPSTREAM OF BELOIT IN THE VICINITY OF TOWN LINE ROAD...
WHICH IS JUST SOUTH OF THE ROCK COUNTY AIRPORT.
THE RIVER LEVELS HAVE STABILIZED DUE TO OFFICIALS INCREASING THE
WATER FLOW THROUGH A DAM ON THE ROCK RIVER IN BELOIT. THE RIVER
GAGE AT AFTON...WHICH IS ABOUT 2 MILES UPSTREAM FROM THE ICE JAM IS
REPORTING A DECREASE OF ABOUT TWO TENTHS OF A FOOT SINCE IT PEAKED
AROUND NOON. HOPEFULLY THIS TREND WILL CONTINUE.
FLOODING WATERS DUE TO THE ICE JAM HAVE REACHED THE BACK DOOR OF
ONE HOUSE ALONG THE ROCK RIVER. ROCK COUNTY OFFICIALS ARE
MONITORING THE SITUATION...AND HAVE ADVISED RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG
THE MOST FLOOD-PRONE AREA OF THE ROCK RIVER IN BELOIT TOWNSHIP.
ICE JAMS ARE VERY DIFFICULT TO PREDICT. THEREFORE...IT IS UNKNOWN
AT THIS TIME HOW THE RIVER WILL REACT AND HOW HIGH IT MAY STILL
RISE.
Check the Milwaukee/Sullivan NWS website for further info about the portion of the stateline area north of the WI/IL border.
