10:30pm - For the latest snowfall totals, road conditions, and any delays and cancellations please tune into Ryan, Marissa, and Adam on 13News Today from 5:30-7am. In the meantime, click here for delays/cancellations.9:00pm MKX issues Snow Advisory for Rock[WI] till 12:00 PM CST
8:45pm - As we alluded to earlier, a Winter Storm Warning has now officially been posted for DeKalb and McHenry Counties until 6pm Friday.
8:30pm - Snow Advisory will be added for Jo Daviess, Stephenson, and Carroll County. NWS Quad Cities: "few reports of 2-3 inches Stephenson and Carroll counties...and based on the above will be expanding the advisory to include yet a few more counties north/west."
7:44pm - I spoke with the National Weather Service around 7:30pm this evening concerning the bands of moderate to heavy snowfall. They will be expanding the Winter Storm Warning farther westward into the 13WREX viewing areas. They will be adding McHenry, DeKalb, Kane, and La Salle. Once the 8pm observations come in and they receive another snowfall report from the Rockford Airport they will decide whether to include Winnebago, Boone, Ogle, and Lee Counties. Snowfall forecasts have been upped because of the 3-4 inch reports received thus far. Moderate snow should diminish after 9pm with light snows likely overnight. Rockford should be around 4 inches at 10pm with another inch or two overnight. DeKalb-Sycamore still has a good chance of getting up to 6-9 inches. I will post another update should the metro go under the Winter Storm Warning. -ES
6:45pm - I am going to go ahead and raise the snowfall forecast. We've already had 3 inches in DeKalb-Sycamore with another nine hours of steady, light snow to go through the night. Also surprising is the amount of fluffy snow reported so far in Sterling-Rock Falls. -ES

The roads are really bad in DeKalb.
I think you had a different map up when you just cut in a few minutes ago. What do you think about the morning commute for tomorrow? will there be a problem with blowing snow
Almost already 3 inches here in SE Rockford.. I really think we may see (and hoping!)more than 6inches, especially since we have many more hours of snow remaining. This stuff is really piling up =)
Man, it's embarassing how out of touch the Weather Channel is.. Earlier they were forcasting 2-4 inches overnight, they are now calling for 1-3 overnight...Even though we have already exceeded 3...
Keep up the great work Eric!
Thanks restless. Roads are terribly bad. I just ran into Winnebago for a drive-thru-run. I never made it above 25mph.
TWC is totally automated and even the computer model that we run in-house gave us 2 inches tonight. Snow looks like it'll let up a bit by 10pm but a 6 inch snowfall seems reasonable for the metro tonight. -ES
First time posting but wanted to say a THANK YOU to WREX weather crew for always doing such a great job and keeping us up to date!
I just arrived home traveling 20 into Belvidere and then down Rt 76 and the roads were snow covered and slick. Out here in Poplar Grove, we've got at least 3 inches.
"Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!"
Still pretty bad out.. some roads haven't been touched by plows yet. Im not sure if when they are deciding to close schools, they take how many days we've had off so far into consideration
