It is going to feel fantastic to have above average temperatures for the next three days. Highs today should spike in the 40s with ample sunshine and southwest winds at 10-20 mph. Although as with every type of weather phenomenon, it comes at a price of something else. The National Weather Service in Chicago estimates that there is 4 to 6 inches of water trapped in the snowpack in southern Wisconsin. The vast majority of that snow is going to be melting in the next couple of days. As it does so it is likely to runoff into the rivers, which could create some flooding potential for those that live downstream (northern Illinois). Rivers that could start experiencing some flooding by Thursday include the Pecatonica, Kishwaukee, and Rock Rivers. -ADAM
