Tonight, a weak storm system is going to pass to the north of us. Minnesota and Wisconsin will be picking up some measurable rain, but for us it looks like all we will see are a couple of isolated showers and sprinkles. It shouldn't hamper any evening plans you may have.Saturday, a more potent storm system is going to pass to the south of us. It should produce some accumulating snow for portions of Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana. From the data I have to work with at this time, the low won't track close enough for us to have to get the snow shovels out. A thin coating is possible south of Interstate 88, with a few flurries in the Rockford area.
On St. Patrick's Day, the Stateline will be the main target of a strong rainmaker. Heavy rain is possible Monday afternoon through Tuesday as the moisture from the Gulf of Mexico opens up for business. A few rumbles of thunder or flashes of lightning can't be ruled out either. I sure hope the green attire you plan to wear next Monday is waterproof! -ADAM
