On the Outskirts

The bullseye with tonight's storm system is going to be setting up well to the south of us. Portions of central Illinois and central Indiana could end up receiving several inches of rain in the next 48 hours. That is where the main flooding threat is going to occur.

Being on the northern edge of the bullseye we ran into a little snow this afternoon, but it didn't stick as our temperatures stayed above the freezing mark. Overnight we are likely to run into a little bit of rain, sleet, and snow. The shower activity won't be overly intense, which is why I expect our liquid precipitation totals to remain below a quarter of an inch. Because of this, our risk for flooding along area rivers is low. Some minor flooding is likely in the most prone spots, but it won't be anything that we haven't dealt with before. -ADAM
