Dust Off Those Skis

Last weekend was the first weekend that the ski resorts across the Stateline were 100% open. That meant I needed to dig out the ski report.

The better of the two days to break out those skis or that snowboard is Saturday. High temperatures appear quite comfortable near the freezing mark. The skies are going to be mainly gray, but they should be dry the majority of the time. By Sunday, drizzle and light rain engulfs the region. If you were to venture out for the second half of the weekend, you would be sifting through slush as the mercury climbs into the 40s for the first time in December.

A little tip for the fiscally responsible: Chestnut Mountain is still doing dollar days through the 19th of December. That means whatever day you go on, that is how much you pay for the lift ticket. I went last Saturday and it only cost me $6 to get on the slopes! Hopefully you stay away from the run called "Mineshaft", because my buddy ran into some misfortune on that black diamond. He hit a sharp lip that had a rapid drop off behind it and landed hard on his shoulder. He is doing alright, but has certainly been moving a little slow this past week.

For you snow enthusiasts, you can catch the ski report every Friday morning as long as there is snow on the hills. -ADAM
