Pick an Option

With this northwesterly orientation in the jet stream for the next 10-14 days we have only two options on the weather menu. Each day over the next seven has one of these scenarios playing out.

If you are a fan of sunshine you are going to have to deal with a big helping of frigid conditions. With clear skies at night our temperatures will easily dip into the single digits with daytime highs 10-15 degrees below average for this time of year.

If you are wishing for some warmer weather, there are some slight and brief warmups on the horizon. Although anytime our temperatures get close to the freezing mark, we are going to get served a big plate of snow. I put the word "cool" on the graphic because 32° is still a little below average by early December standards.

If you had to pick an option, which one would you pick? For those of you electing to go with option #1, your weather days are today, tomorrow, Sunday, and Wednesday of next week. For those of you choosing option #2, your weather days are Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday. -ADAM

For a winter lover like me, this is the perfect setup for early December, hopefully this pattern plays out all year.

Bah Humbug.

Option 2 I'd rather deal with the snow than the frigid tempatures

Option 2 without the intermittent Option 1 days. I grew up in southern Michigan, where snow meant time to go out and play. Here on the prairie, you never get a chance to build a snowman --the snow is alway too cold to pack. I'm feeling kind of humbugish myself.

I love it Anthony! I'm down for option 3... though only for December, January, and February.

Option 2! I would LOVE another winter like last year with all the snow :)

If we can't have snow then I will follow Anthony and Adam to Florida.

I think eric chose option 3 today, so justin gets to deal with the cold weather and erics 5 6 and 10 newscast. I hope eric is enjoying the warm florida weather.

Old Man Winter bid him a fond farewell, though. ES had to brush a light dusting of snow off his car this afternoon.

Well that serves him right leaving us in this cold while he goes to enjoy the warm florida weather for the weekend. Are you doing the weather for the next few day justin, with adam doing the midday tomorrow.

Still a lot to watch for early next week. The computer models that go out that far are still disagreeing, with one of them giving us only light snow on Monday with a dry Tuesday. It keeps the main storm system over toward the Eastern Seaboard. However, I do not buy into that yet.

Well, I guess if you are a major snow lover you hope that the storm on monday is a big one. If you are a snow hater, you hope it misses us. I think last year it seemed that the models would have a storm off to the east of us only to back it up and hit us instead.
