Radar trends indicate that the whole swath of snow is pushing eastward; in addition, it's beginning to fall apart in southeast Iowa. While it looks like we still have a few more hours of snow in Rockford, the end is certainly in sight.
The heavier snowfall rates will occur south and east of Rockford. However, the duration of the heavier snow should be short enough that accumulations won't get out of hand.
Everybody is going to experience poor road conditions through the evening and overnight. There is still some residual ice on area roadways, and the addition of snow on top of that has made roads pretty messy. Also, blowing snow will be a big problem in open areas. When I came into work at 1, there was already snow blowing across the road in some places. I would suggest staying off the roads unless you really need to go somewhere... otherwise, this is the kind of night to just stay in and have some hot chocolate.

New Snow (since 8 p.m. yesterday) = 5.1 inches, Beloit, WI.
Some of that is frozen slush; not sure whether to count that as snow or not.
Road conditions will be dramatically improved by Wednesday morning. Main arteries are already doing fairly well. Secondary roads in town should be good to go by sunrise. Rural roads might still be a bit of a struggle due to some blowing and drifting snow.

Thanks bluedaisy, that was certainly an exhausting winter storm. I can tell you that once my head hit the pillow last night I was out within seconds!
