No one will soon forget last winter's 72.9 inches of snowfall; just an inch and a half short of the record snow for any winter season in Rockford. A few of you have been wondering if we'll get close to that record this season.Looking back at how much we've shoveled so far this season yields a remarkable total so far! Last year up to this point we saw only 25.8 inches of snow. This season we've already had a whopping 45.6 inches...nearly 20 inches more than last year to this date!
At this rate we'll exceed the record easily. But that will only happen if we continue the pace that was set back in December (this still remains to be seen). Remember, last year's biggest snows came in February. This season we had nearly 30 inches of snow just during the month of December!
We'll continue to post our progress here on the blog. By the way, models are starting to hint at a big snowmaker in about a week. If you want to break a record keep your fingers crossed. If you don't, it may be time to plan a southern vacation!

I am a snow lover and would love to see us break the record. Bring on the snow. When late february-early march comes, it can all melt and spring can come.
Let's Double last years numbers... Yes We Can!
FYI, RFD recorded 0.4" of snow from last evening's disturbance. This now brings our total to 46.0". The "comparison" graphic has been updated and is on the right hand side of the screen.
Adam, will you, eric and justin keep that graphic up for the remainder of the winter, or will it be taken down depending on the weather conditions.
