The meltdown then some thunder?

You have to jog your memory back over 10 weeks to remember the last time we touched 50°. If it doesn't happen Saturday, we will get very close. When the stretch of 40 degree days starts on Friday, it will kick off the big meltdown of our snowpack. You can see that several nights we won't even drop below the freezing mark, meaning the sounds of dripping will continue around the clock.

Last night Eric threw a lightning bolt on the icon for next Monday. While rain is looking more and more likely, it isn't an overwhelming chance of thunder. That being said, I couldn't find enough reason in the models to take the thunderstorm icon off of the 7 day outlook. The second graphic is what the European model is projecting for next Monday afternoon. You can clearly see the big push in moisture off of the Gulf of Mexico with a well defined area of low pressure around Fargo, North Dakota. This will certainly be something to watch early next week. -ADAM

Thank god, thank god, thank god. The walk in to work this morning was sooooo awful. And I'm only going from the parking lot to the door!

Now after the meltdown is complete and the snow is gone, is there still a chance of another major winter storm late next week. I know eric posted something about it last night.
