Robins already?

We've had a few phone calls from some of you spotting robins already! If you've seen one let us know! Better yet? Get your digital cameras out and send us a picture. After all, they are the best sign that a warming spring is just around the corner. Let's hope they will pop out of the woodwork this weekend when temperatures surge into the 40s!

Robins are on their trek of migrating northward at this time of year so most likely the little ones we're seeing right now are on their way to Canada for the summer. I did hear somewhere that some robins stay here all year long (but I've yet to see any in the middle of winter). Maybe someone has more insight on that one!

Don't forget to use our "See it, Shoot it, Show it" feature on the main weather page.when you're submitting pictures. But don't forget to throw us an E-Mail to weather@wrex.com and let us know your picture is there. Then we can share them on the air!

In 11 years of doing weather, I've never boxed with a groundhog on live tv. Gonna have to save that tape! :P

I don't know if they are robins but we have 4 or 5 birds flying around in our store right now.

Some males stay all year which helps them claim their territory early for nesting season.
