Jingle Bell Run

This forecast goes out to the running and walking enthusiasts out there. The "Jingle Bell Run" is a 5K walk/run that is being held to benefit the Arthritis Foundation. It is occurring tomorrow (Saturday) morning and is being held near the Rockford Memorial Hospital at 2400 N. Rockton Road. If you haven't registered yet, you can do so between 6am-7am. The race begins at 8am. As with every year, this year's Jingle Bell Run will be a little chilly. Temperatures will hover around the freezing mark when the starting line is first broken. A flurry or two is possible early on, but it should not cause any slippage between your tennis shoes and the pavement.

Post-race festivities include appearances by Santa, Mrs. Claus, Hammy, and Peepers (RHS mascot). Chair massages will be dished out as well as lots of food and beverages.

If you are heading out look for myself, Gretchen Ross, reporter Katie Crowther, and one of our producers Shannon Mortimer. The four of us will attempt to tackle the course. I will be sporting some sweet knee-high socks. If you see me, be sure to come up and say hello and give me some tips on how NOT to get lost on the course... -ADAM
