Freezing rain being reported in Iowa

At 9:00am CST, Cedar Rapids, Iowa was reporting freezing rain with a temperature of only 21°. Freezing rain will begin in the Rockford area right around noon (give or take an hour or so). Please make sure that all necessary travel is completed by this time as a glazing of ice is expected.

Are we expecting snow before the freezing rain or are we now just expecting freezing rain? The radars are way off too...

I moved to North Central Iowa in October but still check the weather in Rockford...daughter still lives there. As I type this I can hear the freezing rain hitting the windows. It is VERY windy here and widespread power outages are expected.
