Epic rains and snows for California

A major storm will continue to bombard California during the next one to two days. Here is an estimation of rainfall amounts for Sacramento, San Francisco, and Los Angeles from our ExacTrack Computer Model. Look at the snow forecast for Lake Tahoe. That's 29 inches of snow in just two days...and that's probably not the highest totals. In fact, our computer model only shades in colors up to 28 inches. The high Sierras (in pink) south to Yosemite may receive up to 10 FEET of snow. Click here for a report from CNN.

Here is a list of the biggest storms to hit California (courtesy USAToday)
• More than 12 feet: Placer County, Calif. in a January 1952 storm.
• Nearly 10.5 feet: Nevada and Placer Counties, Calif., in a five-day storm in March 1982.
• More than 8 feet: March 1958 in Placer County.
• More than 8 feet: Nevada and Placer counties in a four-day storm in March 1995.
• More than 6 feet: New Year's 1993 in Placer and Nevada counties.
