Get ready for more snow!
Clouds will thicken up as we progress through the night tonight. A few sprinkles or flurries will be possible but the main event will come Thursday afternoon and evening. Watch for precipitation to start in the form of rain or snow with a gradual changeover to snow. With dry air in place at the surface there might be a delay in the onset of the rain or snow. With temperatures around 37° during the midday hours, this plays a role in precipitation type. As the precipitation evaporates as it falls from the clouds the temperature will cool (evaporation always takes heat out of the atmosphere). This cooling will end up changing the precipitation from rain to snow. I expect we'll be all snow after 7pm Thursday with some pockets of moderate to perhaps heavy snow. One of the facets of this weather system is its short duration. It's not going to last too long. In fact it'll likely be done snowing by early Friday morning. Total snowfall accumulations will likely be in the 1-3 inch range. Should this system intensify a little bit the NWS may issue Snow Advisories. Adam will have an update in the morning should that occur. -ERIC

Will the snow actually stick to the pavement Thurs?
Eventually, mainly Thursday night. -ERIC
