LIVE BLOG

(7:41:16 PM) nwslot5: FYI, we're about to get a TOR box for North Central IL
(7:43:52 PM) nwslot5: Winnebago, Boone, Ogle, Lee, DeKalb and LaSalle counties.

A tornado watch is in effect for Green and Rock counties. Illinois counties under a watch momentarily.

If you live in our Wisconsin counties or the northernmost Illinois counties, be prepared for severe weather for the early overnight hours. A supercell thunderstorm with a history of producing a very strong, damaging tornado is moving toward Dubuque. The storm is EXTREMELY strong. Debris has been reported falling out of the sky 50 miles from the tornado.

I will be here with updates and we will go on-air if threatening weather approaches.

I know I was mobil on forest hills road and the outer edge of the clouds from these storms is widespread and I was seeing lightning way off in the distance. I wonder if these storms will hold together to hit rockford or if they will die out.

I don't know (and I'm no expert, I'm just an amateur) but I've been watching that storm that is now producing a tornado warning for Jo Davies Co. on radar for almost 2 hours. Its been hanging together for a very long time already. From my amateur perspective anyway.

Now hearing rumbles of thunder near Beloit (far So. Central Rock Co., WI).
