Friday severe threat has ended

Tornado Watch has expired and some sunshine has returned to finish out the evening.

We received numerous reports of downed trees along with power and phone outages. Even some structures sustained some damage with some siding torn off homes and a collapsed barn. No word on if the damage in Boone County was because of a possible tornado or if it was due to thunderstorm winds.

Click here for a list of the preliminary storm reports.

A severe threat returns to the area for the weekend, especially in the afternoon/evening hours.

Dang the next 3 days we have a severe threat. Looks like a lot more live chats coming up.

Friday's storm blew a robins' nest with 5 unhatched eggs out of a tree in my back yard.

:(

I watched those robins building that nest all spring. It looked like a pretty sturdy nest too.
