It's been several days since we've had any widespread rain and that's just what the doctor ordered.
There's still plenty of water in the Rock River that needs to move south but it appears that most water levels have crested. The exception is at Afton, Wisconsin (just north of Beloit). The National Weather Service is forecasting a possible six inch rise over the next 48 hours. All other areas are at crest now with some places seeing a drop of an inch or two.
So long as we can keep the forecast dry, I don't expect things will get much worse than they are right now.
