No complaints here!

Since record-keeping began over a hundred years ago Rockford has never gone through a summer season without a 90° temperature. And it appears we're on the right track to break the record! Persistent northwest flow has allowed our atmosphere to remain cool however areas down in the deep south have been cooking for weeks and months!

Austin, Texas has had 43 days this summer with over 100° heat. According to KXAN-TV they are experiencing the third warmest summer ever with 1923 and 1925 being warmer with 66 and 69 100° days respectively. Austin's high temperature is expected to be right around 100° for at least a week!

You really couldn't get any better than today's weather. A+!

I see a rain chance added to Saturday. is that just a small chance? we are having a deck party that evening... and of course we will be a BBQ'ing :)

I totally agree! This is why we live in the midwest. :)

The rain chance is in there as some cold air will work in around 10-15,000 feet. This may spark a few showers or isolated tstrms. Nothing big...nothing that would ruin the BBQ'ing!

Take care!
ERIC

When you say "a summer season" are you talking about "meteorological summer" or "calendar summer" or are you talking about any time through October (or whenever the last chance of a 90-degree day might occur)?

Having witnessed the weather center cleaning wager I now know that you are a betting man, Eric.

If I were to hang a wager on this one I'd say, "no way" - so long as you mean "between now and Christmas."

Let's see, what could I bet Eric on this one? How about 3 snow-depth measurements when its cold outside & the snow inside my boots is freezing my toes off?

I think there's no way we'll make it to Dec. 31 2008 w/out at least one 90-degree day.

If I'm wrong I'll offer Eric 3 accurate snow depth measurements (3 different occasions) whenever he wants to ask for them during the winter of 2008-2009.

If I'm right ... hmm, are you willing to make a wager on this one? What are you willing to bet on this prediction? (The weather center is already clean.)

I am actualy wondering when the weather channel is showing the temp in the little box on the bottom, is that the temp from the airport. Because if so, I think last month, I believe I did see 90 on the little box on the bottom. So I am just wondering if maybe they jumped the gun.

Hey eric, if I remember correctly last august 7th when we had the floods here, you were vacationing in texas and adam had to run solo most of that week.
