Tag Team Effort

Outside of tropical storm Fay, there are two significant weather disturbances across the country. The first is a cold front that is just crashing into the Pacific Northwest. The second is an area of low pressure spinning over the panhandles of Oklahoma and Texas. This 'low' has been sitting over the western Plains for several days now. It won't reach us until there is a steering mechanism in the atmosphere to move it along. That is where the cold front comes into play. This frontal boundary should swing into the midsection of the country and pick up this piece of energy by Thursday. These two forces should combine to give us a decent chance at some thunderstorms by the end of the week. Timing is the toughest with these systems, but at this point it looks like the highest probability for wet weather will occur on Friday and Saturday. We could use some since we've picked up less than 2" of rain over the past 30 days. -ADAM

I hope we do get the rain. Our yard is starting to get very brown right now.

I know we need the rain, but DeKalb corn fest is this weekend and I hope it doesn't rain! I've got a booth in the craft fair for the first time, I'm excited.

We just got 9/10" outside of Mt. Morris tonight...we sure did need it for the crops.

Consider yourself lucky artist! Over 95% of the square miles that we cover in our forecast area stayed completely dry.
