iembot: LOT issues Flash Flood Warning for Boone, Cook, De Kalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, La Salle, Lee, McHenry, Ogle, Will, Winnebago [IL] till 10:30 AM CDT

(the Severe T'Storm Warning that was issued at 4:30am was incorrect; it was meant to be a flash flood warning)

Original post shortly before 2am:

I was just about to go to bed, too...

Lee and DeKalb Counties are under a TORNADO WATCH until 10 a.m.

As of me posting this just before 2 a.m., the southern edge of the band of rainfall has had a handful of mini-supercells develop along it. I expect these to remain just south of our viewing area, but they may manage to sneak into the extreme southern parts of Lee and DeKalb Counties.

If a tornado warning is issued for where you live, take shelter immediately. The safest shelter is in your basement. If you don't have a basement, move to the lowest level of your home and into a small, interior room such as a bathroom or closet. If you can, cover yourself with blankets, pillows, or the like.
