Anything but typical for Turkey Day!

Thanksgiving is known for turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, warm rolls, pumpkin pie, and football! I'll bet you don't remember any Thanksgivings that are too crazy weatherwise. Candy posted some climatological information about Thanksgiving. Read the post below.

Typically we'll see highs in the upper 30s with lows in the lower 30s on the big day. This year will be anything but typical! Highs are projected to be in the upper 50s. There have only been five Thanksgivings with highs in the 60s during the past 100 years! If we do get above 60° on Thursday, it will be one of the six warmest Thanksgivings! Instead of taking the post-meal nap on the couch...how about going out back to the hammock! -ERIC

I can remember when our sons were maybe 10-12 years old, they would go outside and play football after dinner on Thanksgiving. That would have been maybe in the mid 1970's. Might that have been one of the record years?

If we hit 60° on Thursday, it will be the warmest Thanksgiving in forty years...so I'm guessing back in the mid 70s it was probably in the 50s (still warm).

I am going to try to get some turkey in before the 5pm show. My parents live about 30 minutes from the station, so don't expect too many exciting weather graphics on Thursday! ;-) ERIC
