Looking Warm for Thanksgiving!

The image at the left is an ensemble forecast for Thursday (Thanksgiving Day). Basically an ensemble is an average of all of the computer models. I have drawn a red line indicating "near average" temperatures. But notice that much of Wisconsin and a sliver of Northern Illinois is in the bright yellow color. The legend at the bottom shows the scale with zero being average temperatures. With the 10 line going straight through Northern Illinois, that signals temperatures that could near 25° above average! If you believe that we would be 70° on Thanksgiving...our record high temperature is 65°.

This is definitely good territory to be in. We'll have to keep tabs on our ensemble forecasts as they are good indicators of long-term weather. I can say with 100% certainty this Thanksgiving will be one of the warmest on record! Let's hope the rain stays away now. -ERIC
