Still another cold day across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. We even saw a few snow flurries early this morning! With a brisk northwest flow at the surface and aloft, it's hard to find any type of warmth! Not only do we have to deal with the cold, but places along the Great Lakes are once again dealing with Lake-Effect snow.
When the colder air comes in from the west/northwest and moves over the relatively warmer waters of the lakes you often get a few heavier bands of snow that will set up in portions of Michigan, New York, and Pennsylvania. Snow totals will range anywhere from 3 to 6 inches with a few heavier embedded amounts.
We may still see a few left over flurries here through this afternoon.-CANDY
