After Stateline residents have been dealing with temperatures in the 40s the past couple of days, it is nice to see a shift in the jetstream this week. The jetstream, which are winds in the upper atmosphere that steer our weather patterns, will be moving northward into southern Canada for the majority of this week. (As you can see from the picture on the left, courtesy of accuweather.com) That in turn will allow warm air to move into Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin, especially on Wednesday! We will remain fairly quiet and dry through the majority of the week because storms will follow the northward track of the jetstream.
Of course things will be changing by the end of the week as the jetstream will once again take a southward track allowing the cooler weather to filter in Saturday and Sunday.
